Basically G Man, Future Sonic and Retro Sonic must team up to save different areas that are frozen in time by some evil force that is threatening both worlds (and no, Eggman isn't the threat this time).

In Generations, you have to play as both Sonics to get through levels and any other side missions that pop up and fight a boss at the end but you need 3 keys to gain access to the boss, so you'll have to do the side missions as well. If you remember Perfect Chaos from Sonic Adventure DX: Directors Cut, he's one of the bosses you fight in Generations. The strategy is still the same for him.

You can have various characters help either Sonic on specific side missions as well as acquire the seven Chaos Emeralds as well as race against Retro Sonic or Future Sonic depending on who you are using during a specific side mission. You can also go to Omochao's shop and buy various skills and add them to either Sonic to make the levels easier to manage. However, you only get 100 skill points and each skill uses a different amount of points so mix it up and see what you like.

That's about the gist of the game. The rest of it is up to whether or not you want to buy the game. I sure as heck would.

I certainly thought this was a great game. For new sonic fans and old sonic fans alike. I hope they wont go overboard with this game by adding some crazy content to it.
