Some PSP2 Gameplay-Mechanics!

Well... some of it isn't nessecary like needing to push the screen to jump obsticales, but it still brings a new way to interact with the game for developers to experiment! But i really liked the "Snipeing" thing!

It might but so did my ps3 when i first got it when it came out, totally worth the 600 bucks i believe it was. (it was a pain working for that money). But I like the general idea of it. combining dual analog sticks with touch screen features might inspire some developers to make some pretty cool games.

News:
Sony has officially announced a new handheld console called the Next Generation Portable (PSP2 in common), rumors of a walk is not the first month. The device goes on sale in late 2011 at a price not more than $ 600. At least in the U.S. - in Russia, the price level may be higher.

NGP can brag to their peers large touchscreen OLED-display with a diagonal of 5 inches and a resolution of 960x544 pixels. For control in games and navigation menus are not only the standard keys and a couple of analog sticks, but also a special touch panel placed on the rear panel NGP. The latter is made in monoblock form factor, and not a slider, contrary to rumors.

It is worth noting that NGP will not concede the PlayStation 3 in performance. And Sony will try to prove it is already starting line games, which includes the Uncharted, Killzone, WipeOut, Resistance and LittleBigPlanet. There will be a completely new projects.

UMD-discs, of course, will not - the device will have a memory card to store games. The network will be possible to enter using Wi-Fi module, or 3G (in 3G networks will be able to connect to a specific version of the console, which will be the most expensive). In addition, the novelty will embed GPS-receiver, two cameras and an electronic compass.

Nice and that game for the PSP with the release of NGP will not die - Sony has prepared a cross-platform PlayStation Suite, able to port the games released on PSP even on smartphones, even for a Tablet PC - the main thing that they worked on the Google Android operating system

The graphics is going to be the handhelds main feature. Especially when Japanese popular games like God Eater comes out in America. This will surely surpass the newer DS versions and probably will reign over the handheld fan community.

I just hope the online feature is much better than the what they had last time. That is mostly what killed the first PSP.

Wi-Fi running on 3G sounds good. Kinda wish they upgrade to 4G since well it's amazing to run. But it can't be any worse than the old online feature.

The touch screen feature is very nice. So it has like it's own ability to match against the DS and still have upgraded qualities of the first version.

Overall the handheld popularity is going to change drastically because of this release in my opinion.

Also the price, give it some months it will do what the PS3 did most likely.

Gamestop recently did something exciting. Usually for a new system who's price hasn't been announced they just use $999.99 as a place holder. They however have put a price tag of $299.99 on the NGP. This is $50.00 over the original launch of the PSP (249.99) but I'm not complaining.

But still with $299.99 you can just buy a better system with more games. A PS3.

It's amazing how this piece can go this far in graphics.

Though I doubt it's gonna rival PS3 graphics, coz anything on a small screen looks good. PSP Games look good too. I bet if you take that screen and stretch it to the size of something like 42" HD TV, you will see the difference and it will be pixelated.

PS3 Graphics card is far better and bigger than anything that can be fit in that small piece. Not to mention that more powerful GPUs need better cooling system.

So I presume that this PSP2 might use something like a processor of a netbook + something like Integrated Intel HD Graphics Controller (it's enough to play high graphic games on a small resolution)

Btw, anyone knows what's the screen gonna be? LCD or LED or maybe something like Apple Retina Display or Google SuperAMOLED screen?

Already have a PS3, certain games are not on the PS3, portable aspect. Been saving long enough to easily pay for it and a game right away.
Enough reason for me to get one. If you want to complain about price, wait a few months so that they can lower it. The PS3 started out at $600 as well so as said before, be patient.
